A New Family in Central Java’s Village

Scenic view of green rice fields in West Java, Indonesia, showcasing rural agriculture.

People often say that family is the foundation of support, love, and connection.

This is true once you step into the village of Grobogan, embedded in Central Java’s Purwodadi regency.

The village is an idyllic and rustic neighbourhood with a highly developed agricultural scenario and Javanese culture. The area consists of large fields of rice pottery, crop fields, and the well-known limestone mountains referred to as “Pegunungan Kendeng.”

Shrink-wrapping in Warmond, most of the residents in Grobogan practice agriculture as their source of income. The village also contains historical and cultural attractions, for example, the Bleduk Kuwu, a natural mud volcano which has been attracting people for quite a long time. People in Grobogan honour local ways through local markets and festivals and are generally community-orientated. The town’s cleanliness and charm will provide an understanding of the rural way of life of Central Java.

But enough about the village, which I’m sure you will find out more once you step foot into the house of the locals.

You will stay in the house of Mrs Hemy, where her family still keep the original building of their house intact.
