SAIL FROM DRAGONS TO GIANTS

A 4-nights expedition around Komodo National Park and Whale Point

This five-day expedition takes you from the rugged shores of Labuan Bajo across the Flores Sea to the tropical beauty of Lombok. Along the way, you’ll conquer the iconic peaks of Padar Island at sunrise and trek through the wild forests of Komodo Island to encounter legendary dragons in their natural habitat. Between snorkeling sessions at the vibrant Pink Beach and drifting with Manta Rays, you’ll experience the raw, prehistoric charm of Indonesia’s most famous national park.

The journey then ventures toward the hidden wonders of Sumbawa for a truly bucket-list encounter with the gentle whale sharks of Saleh Bay. After days filled with turquoise waters and nights spent sailing under the stars, the voyage wraps up with a final sunrise trek on Kanawa Island before arriving at the shores of Lombok. It’s a perfectly paced blend of high-adrenaline wildlife encounters and serene island hopping, curated for the modern explorer.

Itinerary

You can arrive on the same day of the tour in Labuanbajo, although we strongly recommend to stay the night before in the city. The trip ends in Lombok and a private transfer to any hotels in Lombok area is included in the program

Day 1: Setting Sail from Flores

Explore the picturesque harbor of Labuan Bajo, Indonesia, bustling with boats against lush hills.

Your adventure begins in the evening at 20:00 WITA, when a private driver collects you from Labuan Bajo for your harbor check-in. Once you have settled into your cabin and met your fellow travelers, the crew provides a welcome briefing and room arrangements. At 20:30 WITA, the boat slips away from the harbor and begins a quiet four-hour overnight sail toward the majestic Padar Island.

Please note that no meals are included on the first day since the trip starts just after dinner time. You can bring your own food or snacks especially if you have specific dietary requirement e.g. gluten free

Day 2: Peaks, Pinks, and Prehistoric Dragons

The second day demands an early start at 04:30 AM for a rewarding trek to the summit of Padar Island. Reaching the top in time for sunrise allows you to witness one of Indonesia’s most iconic panoramic views. By mid-morning, the vessel arrives at the world-famous Pink Beach, offering roughly 90 minutes of snorkeling and lounging on its uniquely tinted sands.

The journey continues to Komodo Island, where a guided medium-route trek through the forest brings you face-to-face with the legendary Komodo Dragons. To round out the afternoon, you will head to Manta Point to swim alongside graceful Manta Rays.

At 14:00, the boat begins a significant 18-to-20-hour journey across the open sea toward Sumbawa, with all meals served onboard as you sail through the night.

Meals served onboard will includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Day 3: The Waters of Sumbawa

After a long stretch at sea, the boat reaches the shores of Doropeti in Sumbawa at approximately 13:30. This stop is dedicated to high-energy fun, with two hours set aside for snorkeling and jumping from the boat’s deck into the turquoise water. As the afternoon progresses, the boat sets a three-hour course for Saleh Bay. This stretch of the trip is perfectly timed for guests to gather on deck and enjoy the sunset as the boat moves toward its overnight anchorage point.

Meals served onboard will includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Day 4: Giants of the Bay and Gili Bedil

A stunning underwater capture of a giant whale shark swimming gracefully in the ocean.

The highlight of the journey occurs at 06:00 AM in Saleh Bay, where you will have the rare opportunity to swim and snorkel with gentle Whale Sharks in their natural environment. Following this encounter and a hearty breakfast, the boat embarks on an eight-hour scenic sail to Gili Bedil, arriving around 15:30. You can spend the remaining daylight hours snorkeling or relaxing on the beach until the sun dips below the horizon.

At 18:30, the boat departs for its final overnight destination, arriving at the local harbor in East Lombok by 21:30 for a final night of sleep on the water.

Please note that even though you can swim close to the biggest fish in the world, we strongly recommend to keep great distance and not to touch the whale sharks.

Meals served onboard will includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Day 5: The Lombok Sunrise and Farewell

The final morning begins at 05:00 AM with a refreshing trek to the top of Kanawa Island Lombok. This vantage point provides a stunning final sunrise and a view of the surrounding archipelago. After descending for a final breakfast onboard, the journey officially concludes at 09:00 AM. Guests disembark at the harbor, where the team will assist you to locate your driver at the harbour, and be transferred to your next destination.
